I am a writer, and soon to be director.
But, like any person, I have hobbies, the most prominent among them is Illustration.
I in-no-way call myself an artist that of the canvas or sheet, but I have respect for the community.
I see illustration to not be art in the same manner as Van go or Da Vinci, but I also don't believe such disqualification diminishes the medium. Illustration is a unique form of entertainment, In some cases returning to us the fantastic joys and imaginations that many of us will forgo when entering adolescence. Or at times bringing us to the deepest roots of lust. Thus, though it may never reach the intellectual or spiritual complexity that of "High art," it instead taps the many currents of our emotions, forcing us to not examine, but indulge in the simpler expressions of our nature. So, though I may never hold it in the same intellectual regard as the few classic forms, I praise Illustration as a complete and pure act.
